Social-Pragmatic Language Disorders
Children that do not interact well socially may have a disorder known as Social-Pragmatic Skills Delay. This is common in children with Autism, but children without Autism can also have a problem with social communication. Family history and other disorders can contribute to Social-Pragmatic Skills Delay.
If children are not able to communicate well in a group setting, they can suffer socially and academically. This is a treatable problem and should be treated sooner rather than later. The older the child gets without this being treated, the harder it is to treat.
